Odigie-Oyegun must resign as APC Chairman – Frank

Odigie-Oyegun must resign as APC Chairman - Frank
Chief John Oyegun
Ruling All Progressives Congress, APC may be witnessing more crack as its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Timi Frank, Tuesday vowed to meet leaders of the party on the need for the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie- Oyegun to resign from his position immediately.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Frank said he would meet all leaders of parties that formed the APC and discuss lingering challenges within the party with them, including the refusal of National Chairman of the party, Chief Odigie-Oyegun to resign as demanded by some chieftains of the party.
He said he will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, among others.
Frank wants the leaders to prevail on Odigie-Oyegun to resign, failure of which he said party members who do not want Oyegun would seek alternatives to pursue their political agendas.
“If we are not careful, there might not be APC in 2019,” he said. It would be recalled that Frank has unrepentantly lent his voice to party’s stalwarts such as Tinubu who had called for Oyegun’s resignation over alleged corruption, biases and incompetence.
Oyegun’s sins were unveiled by the chieftain shortly after Ondo State gubernatorial primaries that produced former National Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association, Rotimi
Akeredolu Enraged Frank said on Tuesday:
“I just want to tell Nigerians of the next step I’m about to embark on in the pursuit of rescuing our party, the APC. This is a rescue mission I’m about to embark on. Let me use this opportunity to let you know that this fight to rescue our party is not personal. It’s because I love this party so much and as a loyal member of this party, I’ll do everything that it takes to ensure that we re-build this party to the party we all dream.
“I’ll be writing officially to the President to get an audience with him so that I can have the opportunity to brief him on why Oyegun has to go. I’m also going to write the Vice President, the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and other founding fathers of our party. I’ll also be paying a visit to all party leaders because it is important I brief them on why Oyegun has to go, we must not keep quiet till this party die, we should be able to revive it at this stage.
“I’ll be paying visits to former Vice President, Atiku Abubarkar, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the past National Chairmen of the parties that merged to form the APC. I’ll pay a visit to my own National Chairman then, Alhaji Kawu Baraje who led the New PDP to the APC, I’ll also be visiting Chief Ogbonaya Onu, the then Chairman of ANPP, Chief Bisi Akande, Chairman of defunct ACN, Chief Toni Momoh, the National
Chairman of CPC and Governor Rochas Okorocha who led a faction of APGA to APC.
“This is a visit I’ll be starting anytime soon. “It is important for me to let you know that my first person I’ll be visiting is Alhaji Kawu Baraje, he was my Chairman that led many of us to the APC”.
