We are agitating for sovereign state, not pipeline contacts – Niger Delta Avengers
The Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, on Friday described the Niger Delta stakeholders meeting held on Wednesday at Abuja as an insult to the people of the region, insisting that what the group is agitating for is a sovereign state and not pipeline contracts.
This was as it claimed responsibility for the blowing up of another NNPC crude oil and gas trunk lines, near Warri, Delta State, at 11.45 pm on Thursday, boasting that the attack happened even though the facility was closely guarded by soldiers when its strike team struck.
In a message on its tweeter handle at about 8:10 this morning, the militant group said: “At 11:45PM on Thursday, @NDAvengers blew up another NNPC Gas and Crude trunkline close to Warri.”
Other tweets by the group reads, “The Niger Delta stakeholders meeting is an insult to the people of the Niger Delta. What we need is a sovereign state, not pipeline contracts.
“To the International Oil Companies, IOCs and the Nigeria military, watch out, something big is about to happen and it would shock the whole world.”
